Why is my hot water tap only warm?

That tap is not a thermostatic type, just a plain bath mixer. With my boiler, I just switch it off, & turn off the stop c ock for the cold water. That should stop the hot & cold water to the taps, you can remove the brass part, usually a rubber washer to replace, might be a ceramic disc, but looking at the tap I doubt.

What to do if your hot water tap is not working?
More than likely to be working part of tap ( internal valve ). Can be greased up, but better to replace valve if make known. If make unknown, quite often easier & cheaper to replace tap complete, or as bjl states fit tap revivers.
